Delete Your Account
We respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can delete your
account from the KYC App (Know Your City), what data is removed, and what may be temporarily
retained for legal or operational reasons.
1. How to Delete Your Account In-App
The easiest way to delete your account is directly inside the app. No email request or
waiting period is required — deletion is immediate.
- Open the KYC App and sign in to your account.
- Tap the Profile option in the navigation menu.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen.
- Tap "Delete Account".
- Read the warning and tap "Continue" to proceed.
- Enter your account password to confirm your identity.
- Tap "Delete My Account" to permanently delete your account.
Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once you confirm,
your account, listings, and associated data are deleted immediately.
2. Cannot Access the App?
If you are unable to log in to the app or need assistance with account deletion, you can
contact our support team and we will process your deletion request manually.
Please include the email address or phone number associated with your account so we can
verify your identity and locate your record. We will acknowledge your request within
3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
3. What Data Is Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your Firebase Authentication account (email, password credentials).
- Your user profile document (name, email, phone number, and any other profile fields).
- All service or business listings you created, including their content, descriptions,
contact details, pricing, and category information.
- All reviews and ratings you submitted on other listings.
- All in-app notifications associated with your account.
- Any locally cached session data stored on your device by the app.
4. Data That May Be Retained Temporarily
Certain records may be retained for a limited period after deletion for the following reasons:

Legal & regulatory compliance: Records required by applicable law,
regulation, or governmental order (for example tax, financial, or fraud-prevention records)
may be retained for the period required by such law — typically up to
7 years, or as otherwise required.

Abuse & security: Anonymised or limited data may be retained to
detect, investigate, or prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.

Dispute resolution: Data required to resolve an open dispute, claim, or
complaint may be retained until the matter is closed.

Backup systems: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backup snapshots for
up to 90 days before being permanently purged from all systems.

Aggregated & anonymised analytics: Data that has been fully
de-identified (not linkable back to you) may be retained indefinitely for platform
improvement purposes.

Feedback and complaints you submitted to us: Messages sent through the
"Contact Us" feature may be retained for up to 2 years for quality and
compliance purposes.
5. Retention Period Summary
The following periods apply unless a longer period is required by law:
- Account & listing data: Deleted immediately upon confirmed deletion.
- Backup snapshots: Up to 90 days after deletion.
- Feedback / contact submissions: Up to 2 years.
- Legal / fraud-prevention records: As required by applicable law
(typically up to 7 years).
After the applicable retention period, any remaining personal data associated with your
deleted account is purged from our systems.
